THE FOURTH OF JULY IN STILWELL !

A Salute to Freedom - Stilwell Style!

Did you know that the fireworks display is funded by residents of Stilwell and visitors in Stilwell on the 4th of July!  We are grateful to KCPL each year for allowing us to use their grounds and property to host the fireworks display but you make a difference with your donation to help pay for the actual firework display.  If you are in a position to help, please consider a donation to the Stilwell Community Organization.  You can mail to PO BOX 124, Stilwell, Kansas 66085.

Comment on annual carnival: The Stilwell United Methodist Church would like to make you aware that we have decided to discontinue the Annual SUMC 4th of July Carnival.  We are choosing instead to focus our time and energy towards mission projects that help people in need.   Please consider joining us for a community-wide event in October to package 36,000 meals for students in Rwanda.   Have a great 4th of July and we’ll see you at the parade!

5pm - Parade Registration and Line Up (192nd Street)

  • From 4:30 - 6:30 the United Methodist Church will have a hot dog and chilled water stand at 193rd and Metcalf.   Donations are $2 to the Numana - AIM (All in Mission) event.

  • Decorate your bike, golf cart, build a float and register to be in the parade.

  • Anyone can REGISTER TO BE PART OF THE PARADE

  • Registration helps us plan on number of parade entries and there is no fee unless you are running for an elected office.  If you are in an election for office, we will be looking for a minimum donation of $100 as a contribution  to the community to help pay for the firework display.   That's exposure to thousands of parade goers and you get to help pay for the fireworks!

  • Theme for 2014:  A Salute to Freedom - Stilwell Style!

6pm - Stilwell Community Parade

  • Our "Salute to Freedom - Stilwell Style" parade starts at 6pm on the 4th of July with parade line up at 5pm.  In Stilwell, you don't necessarily need to register for the parade but just show up and get in line.  However, it would be great if you are planning to be in the parde to drop a quick email to let us know so we can plan accordingly.  There is no fee to be in the parade...its FREE, however, it is election year so if you are seeking office or an elected official, we are asking for a  $100 donation (or more) to help pay for the fireworks!  Trophies will be on display later this week at Stilwell Station for the Grand Champion, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners!   REGISTER FOR THE PARADE
